On November 4, 2008 the world watched as history was made and Barack Obama was elected as the 44th President of the United States. This moment marked a pivotal shift in the biography of a country in which, just a number of years prior, blacks were denied many civil liberties, including the right to vote. For Americans of every race, culture and age, this moment signified an enormous step towards justice and equal opportunity for all - values upon which this great country was founded. During his time in office, accompanied by his remarkable wife, the Obamas handled their roles with dignity and pride.
